Ehsan is an advocate for the applied sciences in architecture and landscape and urban design. His expertise is on Urban Microclimates and Outdoor Thermal and Wind Comfort, Cooling Capacity of Green Infrastructures, and application of Urban Cooling Strategies in cities. He is an editorial board member for Sustainable Environments (T&F), Urban Planning (Cognito), and Landscape Architecture and Sustainability (KeAi).
After completing three consecutive post-doc positions at UniSA (Cooling Capacity of Green Infrastructures; IT and MathSci 2015), the University of Adelaide (Urban Wind Engineering and Comfort; MechEng 2016) and UNSW (Urban Cooling Guidelines; SBE 2017), Ehsan has joined the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Adelaide in 2018. Ehsan is also a member of the Environment Institute with research interests including:
- Environmental and social impacts of the urban heat island effect
- Urban greening and cooling in regenerative cities
- Nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation
- Low carbon urban living in green cities
