My name is Fakhrizal Akbar Ilmiawan, often called Akbar. I am a PhD candidate at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) and an Adelaide University Research Scholarship (AURS) awardee at the Adelaide University. I hold a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Thermal Environment from the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia and Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) degree from Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (EEPIS), Indonesia.Thank you.
My current research focuses on understanding the thermal performance of building fabric, with the aim of improving how existing buildings are assessed and retrofitted for better energy efficiency. Through my research, I aim to contribute to more reliable methods for evaluating building thermal performance and to support practical strategies for improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort in the built environment.
