Dr Kylie Porritt is the Director of the Transfer Science Division at JBI and the Editor-in-Chief of the JBI EBP Database. She has been an active contributor to the field of evidence-based healthcare for nearly two decades. She leads a team of dedicated, passionate researchers, and together, collaborating with local and international stakeholders, they develop rigorous, trustworthy evidence-based resources to inform and guide clinical decision-making and practice
Dr Kylie Porritt is an experienced, published researcher having been involved in the conduct of multiple systematic reviews and various health-related research projects. She has a particular interest in advancing the methodology underpinning the development of evidence-based point-of-care resources and has had a critical contribution in developing the methodology for the synthesis of qualitative evidence.
Dr Kylie Porritt currently supervises Masters and Ph.D. students. She is an active, contributing member to several methodologies and evidence-based practice committees, a core staff member of JBI Adelaide GRADE, and peer reviews for several nursing and evidence synthesis, and implementation journals.

Dr. Kylie Porritt has a long-standing interest in evidence-based healthcare and improving clinical and patient outcomes through the implementation of evidence-based practice. She has played a pivotal role in the development of qualitative findings as evidence for practice and was strategically involved in the development of the methodology for synthesizing qualitative research findings, commonly referred to as meta-aggregation. She was also involved in the development of an approach to establish confidence in the findings of meta-aggregative qualitative synthesis, known as ConQual. Both approaches are adopted by the JBI.
She has been involved in a variety of research projects investigating:
- Evidence-based healthcare
- Systematic review methodology
- Grading and evaluating evidence and developing recommendations
- Evidence implementation
- Evidence transfer and knowledge translation
