Sherryl moved to UniSA Whyalla in 2009 after living in Alice Springs for about 10 years. She gained her initial nursing qualification from Uni SA and then worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for a few years. In Alice Springs she predominantly worked with Aboriginal clients. This was at the Renal unit undertaking Haemodialysis, the prison where the clientele was 80% Aboriginal males and the Aboriginal Medical Service. In her time with UniSA she has taught across all 3 years of the undergraduate program and been the course coordinator for both placement and theory courses. Sherryl gained an interest in developing her research skills and completed a Clinical Fellowship with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), then stayed with JBI to complete a masters and after that enrolled into a PhD.
