I am a medical doctor and paediatrician with 20 years of clinical experience, and a senior epidemiologist with 15 years of international experience in the design, implementation and analysis of quantitative studies (cohorts, cross-sectional studies, randomized controlled trials). For five years in Brazil, I worked as an Assistant Professor (2010-2015), where I was responsible for the development, coordination and teaching of five separate courses in the area of biostatistics, epidemiology and research methods targeting postgraduate students. I began working at the University of Adelaide as a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow at the Discipline of General Practice in 2015 (full-time fixed-term position). Two years later, as part of a competitive process, I won a continuing position with the same group (half-time). With the intention of broadening my professional networks and research activities in a range of Australian primary health settings, I applied for and was selected to a position as Head of Research (Level C) and member of the Executive Committee at the Adelaide Rural Clinical School in 2018. In 2020, I was promoted to Associate Professor (Level D) in recognition of all my professional trajectory as an academic at the University of Adelaide.
