Dr Celine Gallagher
Grant-Funded Researcher (C)
School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences
College of Health
Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.
Celine is a clinician-researcher and emerging leader in autonomic and cardiovascular health, with a focus on improving outcomes in chronic conditions including dysautonomia and arrhythmias. She is the Co-Director of the Australian Dysautonomia and Arrhythmia Research Collaborative at Adelaide University, where she leads a multidisciplinary program of clinically translatable research targeting Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
Celine brings extensive specialist cardiology experience across the UK and Australia, having held senior clinical roles in London and Adelaide. She has led the establishment and delivery of innovative nurse-led services, including specialist angina clinics, rapid access chest pain services, cardiac rehabilitation programs, and device and atrial fibrillation (AF) clinics. This strong clinical foundation underpins her translatable research program, which is focused on developing scalable, patient-centred models of care.
Celine completed her PhD in 2019, which examined innovations in care delivery for AF and quantified the growing healthcare burden associated with the condition. Her postdoctoral work has extended this program to focus on integrated, standardised care models incorporating education, lifestyle modification, and multidisciplinary management. More recently, her research has focused on POTS and related autonomic disorders, where she is leading a coordinated program of work aimed at improving diagnosis, management, and long-term outcomes.
This list is not exhaustive. Prospective students should contact Celine to discuss other research opportunities.
