Dr Rui Chen (Richard) is a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials at the University of Adelaide. His research work is primarily funded by a CRC-P grant project "mRNA manufacturing and formulation service for late-stage clinical trials", where he contributes to assessment of mRNA lipid nanoparticle (LNP) quality, evaluation of nano-formulation stability, optimization of mRNA LNP bioprocessing, and development of ready-to-inject liquid aqueous preparations that can be stored at 5 +/- 3 degrees Celsius.
With a doctoral degree in chemistry and a postdoctoral study in cancer immunotherapy, Dr. Rui Chen has expertise in designing nanomaterial for cancer-targeted drug/gene delivery, validating drug/gene delivery systems in vitro, and evaluating cancer therapeutics for immunotherapy in vivo. His research focuses on development of applicable therapeutic strategies and clinical translation of nano-biomedicine for gene delivery and cancer immunotherapy.
