Commenced training as a Registered Nurse in August 1986 at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a student nurse. I travelled throughout Australia in the early part of my nursing career and had the opportunity to work in a large number of health settings ranging from isolated rural clinics to large metro hospitals. Throughout my career I have continued to study achieving a Graduate Diploma in Nursing Management in 1999 and a Bachelor of Education in 2004, after which I worked in a large private hospital as a Perioperative Educator for eight years. During this time I completed my Masters of Perioperative Nursing.

I commenced working as a Clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide in 2013. I completed a Graduate Certificate of Online Education in 2015. I am currently the Speciality Course Coordinator for the Graduate Diploma of Anaesthetics and Recovery Nursing and Infection Control Nursing and the undergraduate Course Coordinator for Professional and Ethical Nursing Practice Considerations and Nursing Older People.
