Xuande is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the Adelaide University. His research centres on cross-Strait relations between China and Taiwan, examining how subnational actors engage in paradiplomacy to shape political and economic interaction. Using a constructivist approach, he explores how these processes influence the construction of sovereignty and regional governance in East Asia. His broader interests include Chinese politics and international relations theory.

Xuande’s research interests centre on international relations of East Asia, with a particular focus on cross-Strait relations between China and Taiwan. His work examines the role of subnational actors in shaping political and economic interaction, with an emphasis on paradiplomacy and regional governance. Drawing on a constructivist framework, his research explores how these practices contribute to the evolving construction of sovereignty.
