I am a Research Associate at the Future Industries Institute, Adelaide University, specializing in environmental toxicology and soil chemistry. My primary research focuses on the fate, bioavailability, and phytotoxicity risks of persistent herbicide residues in agricultural soils. I pioneer novel diffusive gradients in thin-films (DGT) passive sampling techniques to predict agrochemical bioavailability and crop toxicity across contrasting soil types. Beyond soil chemistry, my expertise spans the development of aptamer-based nano-biosensors for ultra-sensitive detection of hazardous metalloids and pathogenic bacteria in aquatic ecosystems, as well as evaluating the impact of aquaculture management practices on soil carbon dynamics.
