Tara Healy is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology and a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist. Her teaching, research, and professional engagement are informed by her clinical experience supporting children with communication needs across private practice, not-for-profit organisations, education, and community settings. As a clinician, she has worked collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to build communication-supportive environments and strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders to support meaningful participation and communication outcomes. This work, reinforced through her research in early childhood settings, has contributed to her strong interest in collaborative practice, early intervention, and service delivery approaches that support positive outcomes for children and families. Tara continues to consult in early intervention and contribute to clinical education, maintaining strong connections between contemporary professional practice and student learning.
 
Tara completed a Master of Science (Research) in 2026, investigating the management of communication difficulties in early childhood settings. This research established a strong interest in early intervention, collaborative practice, and service delivery approaches that support positive outcomes for children and families. She is actively involved in collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects and contributes to Honours supervision.
 
Tara teaches within the undergraduate Speech Pathology program, with experience in clinical education, student supervision, curriculum development, and course coordination. She is passionate about preparing future speech pathologists for the complexities of contemporary practice through evidence-informed, authentic, and student-centred learning experiences. Her teaching focuses on supporting students to develop clinical reasoning, professional confidence, and the skills needed for contemporary speech pathology practice.
