I am a PhD researcher in the Department of Otolaryngology at The University of Adelaide, specializing in the translational application of ethnomedicinal plants for antimicrobial therapies. My PhD focuses on the therapeutic potential of essential oils from ethnomedicinal plants native to Nepal and Australia. My project has three major components:

  1. Extraction, standardisation, and chemical profiling of essential oils to identify bioactive compounds.
  2. Evaluation of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity against multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens associated with skin and airway infections, using both microbial assays and primary cell culture models.
  3. Proof-of-concept in preclinical models, assessing safety and efficacy using established animal models of infection.
  1. The University of Adelaide Student Scholarship (2023-2026), Adelaide, Australia
