Dr Sasha Lanyon

Dr Sasha R Lanyon graduated from the University of Adelaide with a BSc (Animal Sci) in 2009, and proceeded to complete a BSc (Honours) in 2010, being awarded First Class Honours. Dr Lanyon then completed a PhD in the field of Bovine Health with a focus on diagnosis and management of Bovine Pestivirus. From 2015 - 2018, Dr Lanyon commenced an NHMRC Peter Doherty Biomedical ECR Fellowship studying Toxoplasma gondii. In 2019, she converted to an Education Specialist focus and now predominantly teaches into the undergraduate programs in the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
Outside of academia, Dr Lanyon owns and operates a stud beef cattle operation on the property she and her partner own in the Adelaide Hills. Dr Lanyon is a strong advocate for youth in agriculture and supports many young people in agricultural endeavours, particularly related to exhibiting beef cattle at shows.
