Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.
Dr Robert Bryant completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2005 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2013, specialising in Gastroenterology. Thereafter, he undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases under the supervision of Professor Simon Travis at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford (2013-2014). He subsequently completed a Master of Science by Research (MScR) at the University of Oxford in the field of genetics and mucosal immunology in inflammatory bowel diseases (2014-2015). Dr Bryant is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Adelaide and works as a Consultant Gastroenterologist within the IBD Service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Dr Bryant is actively involved in research in the field of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). He is interested in the influence on diet and the gut microbiome on disease pathogenesis and outcomes in IBD. He is also exploring treatment targets and disease activity assessment in IBD, with an overall goal of improving outcomes for this patient cohort.
