Dr Remy Young

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (A)

Robinson Research Institute

College of Health

Dr Remy Young is a postdoctoral microbiologist and bioinformatician within Professor David MacIntyre's research group. She received her PhD in Microbiology from Monash University (2024) under the supervision of A/Prof Sam Forster. During her PhD, she combined computational analyses with microbial culture-based experimental techniques to understand diet-microbiome interactions. She continued her postdoctoral training with A/Prof Forster, leading the bioinformatics sub-group to develop analysis pipelines for metagenomic, genomic and RNA-seq data from clinical trials and experimental systems.

Dr Young’s current research is focused on investigating the role of the microbiome in reproductive health outcomes. She works on foundational understandings of microbial and host-microbial interactions to aid in developing new diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
