Dr Andie Xu is a teaching and research academic at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of South Australia. She has a strong research interest in the health promotion of middle-aged women and beyond. Her current research study focuses on examining the relationship between sunlight exposure and menopausal hot flushes in working women. This study will lay ground work for exploring sunlight as a potential modifiable factor or alternative management for hot flushes. Previous research studies that she has participated in or completed include lifestyle and mental health in middle aged and older women, change of lifestyle in older women with Type 2 Diabetes and chronic wound management in older people.
She is currently a co-supervisor of a PhD project on treatments to older nurses and midwives at the workplace. Andie has experiences in conducting systematic reviews and met-analysis. She found the book below very useful for beginners in meta-analysis.
Practical meta-analysis by Mark W. Lipsey and David B. Wilson.
