I've held a variety of research, teaching and non-teaching positions at UniSA over many years.
My focus in the classroom is on the teaching and motivation of students studying Maths, Chemistry and
Physics at UniSA College & at SAIBT.
In the Laboratory I'm involved with the following research :
-Chemical analysis and Ballistics work for Victoria and NSW Police Force.
-Expanding the capability of Biobased Epoxy-resins with Change Climate.
-Phase Change Materials (PCM's) with scientists from the Future Industries Institute at Mawson Lakes
Outside of this I enjoy tutoring and mentoring students who are studying Maths and Chemistry.
My research interests are varied due to the stimulating research projects I've been involved with over many years.
Briefly they include,
Prepare flavour formulations for Kerry customers and use GC–MS to analyse both our products and competitor samples.
Capsaicin (pepper spray) research and quality control (Victoria Police/Spectre Ballistics)
Geopolymer encapsulation of phase change materials (PCM) for high temperature thermal energy storage (Adel Uni-Engineering Dept)
Novel synthetic polyunsaturated fatty acids as anti-inflammatory drugs (WCH)
Biolubricants made from canola and mustard oils (COOE)
New high-strength polymer epoxy resins made from glycerol (being commercialised by Change Climate Pty Ltd)
