Nayab's research focuses on pain in children, adolescents, and young people. Her earlier work explored the portrayal of pain in children's picture books, examining how pain is portrayed through literature.  Currently she is interested in paediatric pain and chronic pain across childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, with a growing research interest is in women's health, especially pelvic pain.
