Dr. Mirjam Wiedemann is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Aviation Department. 
Mirjam holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in industrial engineering from TU Berlin in Germany and a PhD from Southern Cross University in Australia. She also completed successfully postgraduate studies in Finance at Macquarie University in Sydney. Currently, Mirjam is also an Adjunct to Curtin University and a Delegate on the Parafield Airport Consultative Committee. At the moment, Mirjam is conducting research together with Cranfield University in the UK as one of the chief investigators of the "Urban Turbine" and has strong connections with the Aerotropolis Institute of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. As expert on new business models for airports and wider regional economic development, Mirjam regularly speaks at industry conferences and is asked for media comments. Mirjam enjoys inter-disciplinary and applied research as well as teaching and inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals and researchers.
Before joining academia Mirjam worked in renewable energies, aviation, economic development and Government.
