Madison is a 3rd year PhD candidate in the Mechanisms of Cell Biology and Disease Research Group, in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at Adelaide University. Supervised by Professor Doug Brooks, Dr Shane Hickey, Dr Lauren Thurgood and Professor Lisa Butler, Madison's research focuses on defining the critical changes in lipid metabolism during prostate cancer progression. Using a variety of cell biology techniques including live-cell confocal microscopy and flow cytometry, Madison aims to determine the uptake, localisation and potential utility of lipids in prostate cancer, and how this changes throughout the progression of the disease. Madison also serves as the President of the Graduate Researchers of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences student committee, and has a casual role as Teaching Lecturer for first year Human Physiology.
