I have particular interests in the use and abuse of power through of coercive, manipulative, or deceitful communication and other corrupt and unethical behaviour. | |
I currently focus on laws and policies regarding rights to healthcare, identity and identification, and non-discrimination of transgender people. |

Previous research |

I have researched and advised on the legal and technological aspects of the privacy and security issues of the technologies used to implement epassports [RFID, NFC, and biometrics, eg facial recognition], and to identify individuals in real time. | |
I have contributed to the interpretation, investigation and prosecution of the crimes of incitement to genocide and propaganda for war for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. |
I am part of the teaching team for Dispute Resolution and Ethics in the Adelaide Law School undergraduate law degree programs.
I have significant teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. A decade as a casual tutor in law, technology, and dispute resolution courses in Commerce, IT, and Management degrees. During this time, I also worked in legal practice, and as a consultant in systems analyst/design, and reverse engineering of software and computer systems.
Until the end of 2020, I was a full-time course coordinator and lecturer, including two-and-a-half years as a specialist online-only lecturer and course coordinator.
