Julia is a Casual Academic and PhD Candidate at UniSA Business. She completed a Masters by Research in Tourism Management at UniSA, investigating tourist experiences and language barriers in intercultural tourist-host contact. Her current PhD research focuses on volunteering in regional community festivals.
Julia’s research and teaching activities focus on event management, sustainable destinations, and tourist experience. Since 2017, she has taught a variety of tourism and events courses at the University of South Australia. She has been actively involved in course development for both UniSA and UniSA Online programs. Her combined industry and academic research experiences enable her to bring current and relevant knowledge to the classroom.
