Mr Joe Patterson

Dr Joe Patterson is a writer and academic at Adelaide University whose research and creative practice explore confinement literature, travel writing and other forms of creative non-fiction.
He holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Curtin University and the University of Aberdeen, where his doctoral research examined writing produced under conditions of confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His journalism and long-form features have appeared internationally, including in VICE and International Traveller. Additionally, he has papers published in Ethical Space journal and an upcoming chapter in the Palgrave Studies in Literary Journalism series.
