I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of Sydney and the at the IA Watson Research Station, Narrabri. For some time I worked for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Horsham. I am a generalist with broad interests spanning agronomy, crop physiology and crop nutrition. I joined the Waite Agricultural Research Institute in 1987
