Daniela Tosti is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Cancer Biology investigating novel immunotherapies for glioblastoma, with a focus on engineering chimeric antigen receptor macrophages (CAR-M). Her research explores how components of the perivascular niche drive immunosuppressive reprogramming of myeloid cells within the glioblastoma tumour microenvironment. By identifying and targeting ligand-mediated signalling pathways that promote macrophage dysfunction, her work aims to inform the design of next-generation CAR-M therapies capable of resisting tumour-induced immunosuppression and improving therapeutic efficacy in glioblastoma.
