School of Psychology

College of Education, Behavioural and Social Science

Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD (as Co-Supervisor) - email supervisor to discuss availability.

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide.

Summary:

My research background is grounded in health psychology, life-course epidemiology, social determinants of health, and adolescent mental health, contributing to the evidence base for prevention and intervention. While these remain areas of interest, my current projects and supervision increasingly focus on organisational and applied psychology. This includes occupational health, work stress, metascience (the science of science), and attitudes towards and uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in various settings, all of which complement my broader focus on health and wellbeing.

Key Areas:

Organisational Psychology: occupational health psychology, work stress, use of AI in the workplace

Health Psychology: stress, obesity, diet and physical activity

Public Health: life-course epidemiology and social determinants of health

Supervision:

I have extensive experience supervising student research at Honours and Masters levels, both as a principal supervisor and co-supervisor. My recent and ongoing projects cover topics such as attitudes towards artificial intelligence, the use of AI tools, work stress and health behaviours (including emotional eating and physical activity), personality traits, mindfulness, social media use, and metascience.

These projects have included systematic reviews, experimental studies, and the analysis of large or complex datasets. Many of my students have been awarded First Class Honours or have won competitive prizes for their work. See my Supervision tab for further details.
