Chris (she/they) is an interdisciplinary researcher interested in the (envisioned) futures of food with a focus on urban food sustainability, plant-based dietary lifestyles and the use of gene technologies in food production. Enthusiastic about interdisciplinary and collaborative research that includes the humanities, arts and social & natural sciences alike, as well as its communication.

Originally from Austria, she completed two BA degrees - 'Cultural and Social Anthropology' and 'Japanese Studies' - at the University of Vienna. She then moved to Japan to pursue an MA at Nagoya University, where she researched vegetarianism, veganism and dietary identity-making in Japan.

Chris is always happy to chat about: breakfast, lunch and dinner; movies and tv shows; art and body modification; indie (video) games; industrial agriculture; any and all books.
