College of Science
I am a third-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Adelaide, majoring in Microbiology, Immunology, and Bioinformatics. I have completed an internship with training in a NATA-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) laboratory at the Australian Water Quality Centre. I am currently working as a Research Assistant on a project using eDNA to detect endangered shark species in the Kimberley region.
My research interests focus on microbial and molecular biology in extreme environments, particularly the hypersaline ecosystems of the Coorong. I am also a method developer of a novel single-cell DNA sequencing technique called Single-Combinatorial Indexing (SCI) DNA sequencing for bacteria and archaea. This method is designed to be user-friendly, instrument-free, low-cost, and broadly applicable to many microbial genomics research. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to learn more about this method or discuss potential collaborations.
