Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist

Dr Chinnaratha completed his basic physician training in Western Australia in 2010. He commenced his advanced training in Gastroenterology in 2011 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2013. He completed another year of sub-speciality training in hepatology with the Liver Transplant unit at Flinders Medical Centre.

He completed his PhD with the Flinders University of South Australia exploring the effect of hepatitis B viral infection and its complications in South Australia.

Dr Asif Chinnaratha is a senior consultant Gastroenterologist/ hepatologist and also the co-lead in hepatology at the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN). He has a special interest in clinical hepatology; in particular, hepatocellular carcinoma, alcoholic hepatitis and viral hepatitis. In addition to this, he also provides a general gastroenterology service at the hospital.
