Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD - email supervisor to discuss availability.
My research is mainly in ‘theoretical’ philosophy: metaphysics, epistemology/philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of probability, and philosophy of physics. I teach and supervise in all these areas, and their early modern history (especially Descartes, Cavendish, and Hume); I also regularly teach courses in logic, philosophy of economics, and philosophy of religion.
I am Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Journal of Philosophy (2022–2027) .
Before coming to Adelaide in 2013, I taught in the Faculty of Philosophy at Oxford from 2004–2013, where I was also a fellow of Exeter College. Before that, I completed my PhD at Princeton. My undergraduate studies were at Melbourne.
