I research problems in computer vision, which involves using computers to understand images.

The main problems I have worked on are the estimation of 3D shape from images, and tracking moving objects in images.

I am a member of the Australian Centre for Visual Technologies, a research centre in the University of Adelaide. The centre conducts publicly funded and contract research into computer vision, image analysis, and machine learning.

I research problems in the area of computer vision, and in particular visual tracking. Some problems I am currently working on include:

  • Tracking AFL players during games for coaching purposes
  • Automatic production of detailed text descriptions of video
  • Tracking moving entities in medical images/video
  • Visual question answering that combines imagery with text based knowledge sources
