Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD (as Co-Supervisor) - email supervisor to discuss availability.
Dr Andrew Barrow is a postdoctoral researcher in the Soares da Costa laboratory and his research is mainly focused on the design and synthesis of novel small molecules for use as herbicidal scaffolds.
Dr Barrow obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, under the supervision of Professor John Moses, where his research centred around the development of photoactive chemical probes for protein footprinting, a technique designed to elucidate information about protein-protein interactions. He relocated with the Moses group to La Trobe University, Melbourne to undertake postdoctoral research in the emerging field of SuFEx click chemistry, particularly in the synthesis of heterocycles decorated with click handles.
Following his time at La Trobe University, Dr Barrow held a short-term research position in the group of Professor David Procter at the University of Manchester, exploring asymmetric catalysis before returning to Australia to join the Soares da Costa laboratory at the University of Adelaide.
