Ammara Waheed is a Research Assistant at the Institute of Photonics, Advanced Sensing and Quantum Technologies at Adelaide University, where she works on nanoparticle synthesis. She recently completed her MPhil at the School of Chemical Engineering, Adelaide University. Her research focused on the removal of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) using continuous adsorption- and ozonation-based techniques in Coiled Flow Inverter (CFI) reactors.
She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in chemical engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. She also lectured in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Wah, Pakistan.
Ammara has expertise in the synthesis of advanced materials for environmental remediation, including inverse-vulcanized copolymers, graphene-based photocatalysts, and biosorption techniques for the removal of heavy metals and other pollutants from wastewater. Her research aims to develop scalable and cost-effective water purification technologies, contributing to environmentally sustainable chemical engineering
