Dr Connie Zheng is Associate Professor in Human Resource Management (HRM) at the UniSA Business, and Co-Director for Centre for Workplace Excellence at University of South Australia.
Connie holds a Bachelor of International Economics from Beijing Institute of International Relations; Master of Applied Economics from Macquarie University; PhD in Management from Charles Sturt University; and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from Deakin University.
During a span of over 25-year career in the university context, Connie has committed to sustained research and scholarship activities, publishing 5 books, 20 book chapters, 5 industry reports, and 45 ABDC-ranked journal papers, and numerous conference presentations in the areas of international HRM; HRM-driven creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation, employee wellbeing and work-life balance.
Connie’s research outputs have been used to enable organisations and employees to be innovative, resilient and adaptable to the changing world with many challenges stemming from continued global integration of markets, people and technology.
Connie’s expertise in HRM and its impact on organisational and societal performance outcomes has attracted several funding opportunities from government, industry, national and international bodies such as Contruction Industry Training Board (CITB), Wellbeing SA, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC); Australian Academy of Social Sciences; Gardiner Foundation; United Nations and World Bank.
Connie enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues around the world and has been teaching, consulting and conducting research in several countries such as Australia, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and USA.
Prior to joining UniSA in 2020, Connie used to teach and research in several universities such as Deakin, RMIT, Central Queensland University, Newcastle University and Macquarie University in Australia, as well as Peking University in China.
