Dr Christopher Bean

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide.

My primary areas of research are in health psychology (e.g., health behaviours: diet, physical activity), and its intersection with elements of organisational psychology (e.g., work stress). I also have experience working in areas of applied psychology, including metascience (i.e., research on the practice of research), use of and attitudes towards artificial intelligence (AI), as well as commercialisation (e.g., developing evidence-based products and services). I have experience supervising projects such as systematic reviews, online surveys, and analysis of large pre-existing datasets.

 

Public Health: life-course epidemiology, social determinants of health, adolescent mental health.

Health Psychology: obesity, energy balance-related behaviours, diet, physical activity, stress, telomeres, sleep, psycho-cardiology.

Organisational Psychology: occupational health psychology, work stress, job demands, job control.
