Dr Bo Xu

My research focuses on ion transport and calcium signalling in the area of plant stress physiology to address fundamental questions in plant biology to provide knowledge that will help improve crop productivity and improve global food security in a changing climate. My work has established the importance of cell-specific solute transport and signalling impacting plant salt tolerance, drought tolerance, and cell-to-cell communication leading to improved resistance to bacterial infection.
