Zheyi Xi is a PhD candidate in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, with a background in architectural design and landscape architecture. He holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University.
His architectural interests centre on policy, community, design/planning and preservation, informed by both academic study and architectural practice. Alongside his doctoral work, he teaches Architectural Design Cultures as a tutor at Adelaide University.
Zheyi's research focuses on architectural heritage, adaptive reuse and urban change. He is interested in how existing buildings are understood, valued and adapted as cities change, and in the social and cultural dimensions of conservation. His broader interests include architectural theory and computational approaches to the study of the built environment.

Zheyi currently teaches Architectural Design Cultures as a tutor at Adelaide University, a role he has held since August 2026. His teaching experience also includes serving as a teaching assistant for the Film in Architecture studio at Pratt Institute, where he supported students exploring moving image as a mode of architectural observation and inquiry.
