College of Engineering and Information Technology
Dr. Yue Liu completed his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of South Australia in May 2022 and worked as a research assistant in Professor Yan Zhuge's research group. In February 2023, Dr Liu was promoted to the position of Enterprise Postdoctoral Research Fellow, a role selected by the deputy vice-chancellor and research deans from over 460 applicants, with only ten being chosen. In 2023, Dr Liu was awarded the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC-DECRA).
From 2020, along with a passion for green construction material, Dr Yue Liu has published over 60 JCR Q1 journal papers and four book chapters. His research work has been cited in over 800 documents, leading to an H-index of 24 and over 1500 citations. Some of the international journals in which he has published include Cement and Concrete Composites, Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Composite Part B: Engineering, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Environmental Management, and Construction and Building Materials.
Some highlighted awards include:
1. Finalist of Ian Davey Research Thesis Prize, 2022
2. Winner of the Circular Economy Thesis Award, presented by Mrs Susan Close, Deputy Premier of South Australia, 2023
3. Winner of the 2025 Unstoppable Research & Enterprise Awards (Early-Career Researcher), presented by Prof. Peter Murphy, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UniSA, 2025
4. Winner of the 2025 UniSA STEM Research Award (Early-Career Researcher), presented by Prof. Jacqui Ramagge, Executive Dean of UniSA STEM, 2025
