My research focuses on how artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 technologies can support supply chain risk management in manufacturing. In particular, I examine how technologies such as machine learning, the Internet of Things, digital twins, blockchain, cloud platforms, and automation can improve visibility, prediction, coordination, traceability, and resilience across manufacturing supply chains. My current PhD project uses a three-study design. The first study is a systematic literature review that identifies the main technological configurations, risk categories, and mechanisms discussed in existing research. The second study will use qualitative case studies and interviews to explore how these mechanisms operate in real manufacturing contexts. The third study will use a survey-based quantitative approach to examine the relationships between AIIndustry 4.0 integration, supply chain capabilities, and risk management outcomes.
