Dr Ying Yu

Dr Ying Yu is a Registered Nurse and academic with extensive experience in both China and Australia. Ying’s cross-cultural background informs her commitment to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals in healthcare settings, both as patients and caregivers.  She holds a PhD in Nursing from Flinders University, where her research focused on a facilitator-enabled virtual iSupport program for carers of people with dementia in the Australian health and aged care context, using a mixed-methods design.
Dr. Yu's research primarily focuses on dementia care and cross-cultural studies in healthcare. Her work aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with dementia and their caregivers through innovative support programs and evidence-based practices.

Project title: A ‘culturally tailored iSupport model’ for carers of people with dementia, funded by NHMRC 2022 TCR Cultural Ethnic and Linguistic Diversity in Dementia Research Grant (No.2024551). 

Project title: Cross-sector Collaboration to Scale Up a Culturally Tailored iSupport Model to Address Unmet Needs of Dementia Carers: the CT-iSupport Trial. Funded by Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
