Yali is a higher degree by research candidate at the School of Education, University of Adelaide. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Yali worked as a lecturer at university in China for 4 years, where she gained valuable teaching experience and developed passion for improving students’ engagement. She has extensive experience in blended and online learning, as well as in curriculum design and development. Her research interests focus on education technology, particularly in synchronous and asynchronous learning and effective use of technology to enhance learning.
During the last few years of teaching, Yali has designed and delivered engaging undergraduate courses to large student cohorts (2000+) and 20 courses, with a strong focus on student-centred learning and curriculum development. She also engaged in the design and development of over 10 online courses. This allowed her to gain skillset on multiple online learning platforms and learning management systems (Canvas, Moodle and Chinese MOOCs). She also worked as a course builder at the University of Adelaide for Canvas-based course development.
