After a BSc and an MSc from Middle East Technical University and a PhD from University of Western Australia, I joined University of South Australia (UniSA) in 1996, and worked as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and then Associate Professor of Mathematics, until 2021.  Currently, I am an adjunct member of Adelaide University.

My interests span optimization, control, and numerical analysis, mainly concerned with devising numerical techniques and algorithms. Currently, my research focuses on

  • Discretized solutions of single- and multi-objective optimal control problems
  • Operator splitting and projection methods for optimal control problems
  • Optimal path planning: finding curves that meet certain optimization criteria.
