Xiaoyan Wei is a PhD student in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, working under the supervision of Dr. Tim Chen. Her research explores context-aware interaction in immersive environments, with a focus on using emotion to enhance user experience in Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR). Her academic interests include emotion-aware systems, user behavior in immersive media, adaptive interfaces, and the design of intelligent, context-sensitive VR/AR experiences.
Ms Xiaoyan Wei research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and immersive technologies, with a focus on designing emotionally responsive and context-aware systems in Virtual and Augmented Reality. By integrating biosignals and adaptive AI, her work aims to explore how interactive systems can sense, interpret, and respond to users’ emotional and physiological states to support well-being, engagement, and personalized experiences. She is particularly interested in developing human-centered interfaces that enable more natural, affective interaction within intelligent XR environments.
