I am a PhD candiate at Adelaide University, studying the evolution of Earth's earliest complex multicellular life, the 'Ediacara Biota' at Nilpena Ediacara National Park (NENP), Flinders Ranges (South Australia). My resarch primarily investigates the palaeobiology, palaeoecology, and taphonomy of new Ediacaran fossil assemblages at NENP, with the aim to clarify the ontogeny and still-disputed preservation pathways of these enigmatic fossil organisms. This work importanly reveals the unique mechanisms that governed these early ecosystms, and precedes the rise of macropredation and rapid diversification of the eumetazoa during the Cambrian explosion.
