PhD Researcher | Nanomedicine & Targeted Drug Delivery | Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) | Cancer Therapeutics
I am a final-year PhD researcher at the University of Adelaide, specialising in nanomedicine and targeted drug delivery systems, with a strong focus on improving precision cancer therapeutics. My research integrates materials science, pharmaceutical engineering, and molecular targeting strategies to develop advanced nanoparticle-based treatments for oncology.
My doctoral research, “Co‑targeting of ovarian and prostate cancer cells using nanomedicine,” investigates the development of ligand-functionalised lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for selective and efficient drug delivery. My work focuses on engineering LNP systems loaded with synergistic drug combinations, designed to enhance therapeutic efficacy while minimising off-target toxicity.
A key aspect of my research is the use of surface-modified nanoparticles decorated with targeting ligands that bind to overexpressed G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) on cancer cells. By exploiting these molecular signatures, I aim to achieve precise and selective targeting of ovarian and prostate cancer cells, enabling improved cellular uptake, enhanced drug accumulation at tumour sites, and more effective treatment outcomes.
Through a combination of formulation optimisation and systematic experimental design approaches, I investigate how nanoparticle composition, surface chemistry, and drug ratios influence delivery efficiency, stability, and biological performance.
