Wanniwat is currently Senior Lecturer (Attainment Model) at Adelaide University. He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AACSB), Swinburne University of Technology, Australia and MA in International Business and Management from Bradford School of Management (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), University of Bradford, UK (and EM Lyon Business School, France).
Wanni has substantial experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, curriculum development, industry-integrated course design and leading academic teams to high-quality teaching. He also has credible professional experience that revolves around business incubation and acceleration, venture start-ups, research and consultancies. This has eventually brought him to being recognised with the UniSA Business Staff Teaching Excellence Award for two consecutive years in 2024 and 2025.
Before joining AU, Wanni was Lecturer (Entrepreneurship) at University of South Australia (UniSA). Prior to UniSA, he also head a position of Lecturer (Management, Organisation, Entrepreneurship and Human Resources) at Thammasat Business School (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), one of the three 'triple-crown' business schools in ASEAN, and a position of Lecturer (Entrepreneurship) and Lead: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Digital Transformation Cluster at RMIT University Australia (Vietnam Campus).
Wanni is also active in research. His publications appear in ABDC's A-ranked and Scimago Q1 journals. The recent ones appear in the Handbook of Tourism Entrepreneurship with other reputable scholars in the field. His last research project also secured AUD 82,000 funded by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) Thailand. In addition, his PhD student in an Australian university, whom he recently supervised has passed at the top 5% of all theses submitted in the past three years.
Wanni's research interests are entrepreneurship, innovation and business model; tourism entrepreneurship; entrepreneurship in Asia; entrepreneurship and strategy for SMEs; and quantitative analyses. He also has expertise in teaching Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Creativity, Innovaton and Design Thinking, Entrepreneurship in Asia, for both undergradudate and postgraduate programs.
