Vyta Hanifah

Vyta is a government officer as a researcher in the Research Centre for Cooperative, Corporation and People’s Economy under National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN Indonesia) who commenced her PhD program in 2023 in the Centre for Global Food and Resource at the School of Economics and Public Policy, the University of Adelaide. She completed a Master of Science in International Development: Economics and Management of Rural Development from the University of Manchester, UK. Her first degree in Animal Production Science was gained from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia.
In the former office (before BRIN transformation), Vyta served as a researcher for the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) for 16 years. She worked in the Agency for agricultural research and development implementing national programmes from the Ministry particularly in the term of technology transfer and dissemination through sets of capacity building for farmers, extension officers, and local officers using participatory approaches.
At the beginning stage of her career, she was involved in ACIAR-SADI project as a liaison officer, in ACIAR-funded project Straw-cow project LPS/2008/038 as part of agricultural economist team, and in TFNet Project on Consultancy services for study on Policy Interventions to facilitate smallholder integration into tropical fruits markets/value chains, funded by TFNet-FAO.
While doing research, she also worked as a project management unit (PMU) under World Bank funded project “SMARTD (Sustainable Management for Agricultural Research and Technology Dissemination)” in the R&D Agency of MoA from 2016 to 2019, where her responsibility mainly covered two components: management for human resources and management for research and policy support.
From 2019 to 2021, Vyta worked in ACIAR funded project “IndoDairy AGB/2012/099” in particular for Objective 3 “Develop, pilot and evaluate innovative extension approaches in West Java that improve on-farm profitability of smallholder farmers”.
In 2021 until just recently, she supervised a team of field officers under ADB Projects between Chamberlain Veterinary Service, Australia and PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy in gender empowerment project in dairy through training on dairy farming and on financial literacy for women-only farmers.
