Vivienne Moore, PhD, is Professor of Social Epidemiology in the School of Public Health. She was Co-director of the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender (Jan 2014 - Jun 2018) and Co-director of the Life Course and Intergenerational Health research group (2008 - ).

The Life and Intergenerational Health Group conducts research to understand the interplay of social and biological factors influencing health over the life course, and the transmission of chronic disease risk from parents to subsequent generations. Through a series of community based studies, the group undertakes epidemiological research to identify the causal pathways and potentially modifiable risk factors for outcomes that are of public health significance, including congenital malformations, obesity, cardiovascular disease and reproductive disorders. Members also support anthropological research to gain in-depth understanding of the social determinants of health, and undertake other work to consider the political and gendered implications of research findings.
