Higher Degree by Research Candidate
School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences
College of Health
Vishnu is a final year PhD candidate in the Cell Siganlling Research Group within the Centre for Cancer Biology at the Adelaide University. Supervised by Professor Yeesim Khew-Goodall, Dr Ana Lonic and Professor Michael Samuel, Vishnu's research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying chemoresistance in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). His project places a particular emphasis on a novel signalling axis involving Protein Kinase C Delta (PKCδ). By employing a variety of cell biology techniques including CRISPR gene editing, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy alongside genetically engineered and xenograft mouse models of TNBC, Vishnu aims to determine the role of the PKCδ molecular switch in modulating the tumour microenvironment.
