The main focus of my research is conducting water, salinity and nitrate dynamics studies in irrigated viticulture, annual and perennial horticultural crops, and developing guidelines for best management practices;
Estimating off-site water and nutrient losses under irrigated crops through numerical modelling is one of the main highlights of my research work;
My research places considerable emphasis on modelling the interactions between climate, soil and crop growth on water availability and to predict the impact of climate change on the irrigation requirement and soil constraints; and
My research work also seek to understand the use of recycled water for irrigation and its long term impact on crops, soils and associated environment.
I have over 15 years of experience from India including teaching Soil Science; conducting researches on ground water quality assessment, salinity tolerance of new genotypes of annual crops, field experiments on use of saline and sodic waters in annual crops and vegetables; and extension activities.
Trained on pressurized irrigation systems from Israel. With over 150 publications including 65 peer-reviewed papers and 2 edited books, I have an excellent understanding on various aspects of Soil Science, Soil Physics, irrigation, salinity tolerance and management, nutrient transport in soils under surface and pressurized irrigation systems.
